Qualities
created through dance training will stay with your child throughout
their life. Dance is not just stretching, turning, and learning a new
routine. Dance is a development and expression of one's personality. As
teachers, we try to instill values and qualities that students can carry
into everyday life. Training in dance, especially ballet, introduces
them to balancing, coordination, and discipline. Getting along with
other children and self-expression are also learned in dance class. At a
very early age, learning to take turns in line, to hold hands in a
circle, and to make new friends can be a challenge. Perfecting a double
pirouette, a grand jete, a triple time step, or a back handspring can
also be a challenge a few years later. But we should and do challenge
all of our students. Teachers at THE BURKHART DANCENTRE continue their
own studies so that we can offer our students the latest styles as well
as strong fundamentals and a solid foundation in dance techniques.
